Can you thin out minoxidil 5%?

To me minoxidil 5% is really thick and doesn't apply as well as 2%, which seems a lot thinner. Anyone know a good way to dilute 5% a little so it goes on easier?

If you want to dilute it, you may as well just go with the 2% as diluting it will only decrease the concentration of minoxidil. You could also try Dr Lee's 5% which is thinner due to more alcohol and less ppg than standard commercial versions.

You can dilute the 5% with ethyl alcohol but you'll have to use more with each application to get the desired percentage of medicine.

Example, if you add 30 ml alcohol to the original 60ml you'll need to apply 1.5 ml every time.
