Heavy chlorinted pools increases baldness, look at alot of professional swimmers, many of them have thin whispy hair, id highly recommend wearing a rubber cap if you spend any significant time in the pool.

Swimming in the ocean has a very therapeutic effect on skin conditions hence probably why the itcheness has ceased on his head, it helps to clear the skin by drying it out, but you need alot of moisturizer after swimming in the ocean for long periods of time or ur skin will age very fast. As for the hair, I think swimming in the ocean can have a positive effect, my hair always looks crazy thick after it dries from swimming in the saltwater, but its largely just an illusion, most of the thickening effect can be attributed to sand in your hair and if you leave it in for few days it makes alot of hair fall out, so i recommend washing under a fresh water shower immediately after swimming. I noticed after this thickening, the next day when i washed my hair, this fasle coating of thickness was washed away and my hair was very thin and whispy.

Yeah, chlorine is actually pretty bad for hair. It strips it of essential oil and all that stuff.

If chloine WAS good for hair, don't you think someone would have discovered it by now and bottled it as shampoo?

yeah, the chlorine being good for your hair thing just seems like wishful thinking. would be awesome if it could be true. if you ever make some crazy disovery and chlorine is the hair loss pancea let me know man. it would be nice to be able to swim and not worry
