Clairol- Natural Instincts or Men's Choice (no ammonia)

I would to cover some gray i have i would like also to lighten my hair. What do you suggest? My hair is medium brown.
Does anybody use any of the products from Clairol?
What do you think it's best for my purposes?
Does Men's Choice lighten the hair?
Does Natural Instincts damage the hair?
