Collagenase is the enzyme that breaks down fibrosis. Men with Androgenetic Alopecia have 4x as much collagen in their bald scalp as men without Androgenetic Alopecia. So would it be a sensible treatment?

This seems like a shot in the dark to me. It's still unclear whether fibrosis is a consequence of balding and miniaturization of the DP or one of the causes.

Without doing something to fight against ROS and the upregulation of TGFb which is the master driver of fibrosis, then attempting to break down preexisting fibrosis might be an uphill battle.

Also, how do MTF regimens impact fibrosis? Does a regimen of E2 and AA's reverse it, or does it prove that it is not as big of an obstacle in achieving regrowth as believed?

Questions that need answers - of course if something is cheap to try then maybe just throwing money at it and going ahead is better than doing research.

In my opinion, this is too far 'downstream'.

Of course, every fibrosis has a cause. But we already know them. Fibrosis is caused by inflammation. This could be a fungal infection or just a tight scalp.

All of the Androgenetic Alopecia treatments that have worked so far have also reduced the fibrosis.

Fibrin is essential for blood clotting. Has nothing to do with fibrosis (scarring)!

Collagenase is very new and was only discovered 10 years ago. It is produced by bacteria so that they can spread around the body more easily.

It is already being used successfully against Dupuytren's disease. Just like Androgenetic Alopecia, these are strong collagen fibers that are immediately destroyed by collagenase

Collagenase 3 is expressed during WIHN. It could be helpful, but it's not going to do anything by itself.
