Common Eye Mascara for Hairline thickening?

hey guys,

I had this idea when I read a post from someone of you who is using a mascara brush to apply Dermatch in his hair.
I am wondering if I could use mascara (black) to thicken the hair of my hairline. I understand that the paint of the mascara is not appropriate for the scalp cause it may contain things that could irritate the scalp...but what about the hair of the hairline? Could I use mascara to thicken them up? Anyone who tried this before?

thanks

Thats me, but why would you want to use mascara (thick and clumpy and very expensive to use on a hairline.) when there are products like dermatch which are made specificly for the sole purpose of using on your hair?

jes, you are the one..!

maybe you are right and my question was quite silly...I just thought that a mascara is much cheaper than dermatch....

check for example this
one :

http://www.boots.com/brandtreatment/pro ... id=1040262

This is only an example: L'Oréal Paris Volume Shocking Black Mascara

but maybe these mascaras cannot thicken your hair and they are only suitable to thicken the lashes...I dont know..thats why I am asking if somebody has used them...

what do u think..?

They will thicken your hair but it will look ridiculous you would get clumpy build up like many women get on their eyelashes and each hair will be about 5x as fat as normal.
IMO one mascara would last about a week maybe two. Dermatch is more expensive but one dish of it lasts for many months! And you get a wide range of shades.

maybe u are right when you are saying that the mascara will last only for some weeks.

On the other hand I have no problem with the shades cause I need the black colour.

As for the thing you said, that my hair will look 5x as fat as normal.....I m really wondering why is this bad? Although I had a hair transplant and now I dont have receding hairline, my hair in hairline look thin. So, I want them to look much thicker. Maybe the result is that it will be obvious that I am using something in my hair, but to be honest I have accepted the fact that some people or close friends will detect that you are using something in your hair. Nothing is undetectable!! A friend of mine asked me yesterday whether I dye my hair....and I said : yes, I have some white hair in my hairline...so, I mean that I expect people to detect ...I just want to have a quite thick looking hair...
I am sure that you know something more than me when you are saying that it will look ridiculous, but now (that u said that it will thicken my hair so much) you made me want to try it ....

From a distance I'm sure it will help but up close it will be obvious and remember its not smudge resistant. Yes with all thickeners/concealers there is a risk of people noticing thats why the golden rule is always 'less is more' but there's a big difference between a few people suspecting something and it being obvious so nearly everyone sees it. Have you tried any proper hair products yet?

I have used Toppik in the past and the last 12 months I am using another hair fibres concealer (HairRebirth) which is cheaper cause I find it in a local store (not online store) so I have no shipping costs.
I will also order Dermatch, so I am thinking to try a cheap mascara, cause probably I will need the mascara brush for the dermatch too.

I will also buy the couvre but only for the hair in the sides, not for the scalp. I will not use Dermatch on the scalp too. I agree with you when you say that Dermatch on the scalp is obvious. My goal is to keep my scalp clear from concealers, but as you know sometimes you can not avoid to have fibers on your scalp. Sometimes the hair concealers look more detectable and sometimes not detectable at all. It depends on the condition of your hair the day that you use them, the quantity, your technique and many other factors.
