Hello, I'm 25, started thinning/losing hair at 19... its time to do something about it, I've been dealing with this depression for long enough...

It seems like propecia causes your hair to shed? and not regrow as well as sexual side effects? can someone shed some light on this please? should I possibly just buy some rogaine and stick to that?

If your hair is already beyond what is acceptable to you personally then try meds, you might respond well, everybody reacts to them differently. Worst case scenario in any event is that you end up with no hair.. the other side effects eventually go after you stop the regimen. How bad is your hairloss?

Shedding on propecia is not a given...in fact, most (if not all) doctors you talk to will deny propecia causes a shed.

Steer clear of rogaine until you've given propecia a year to do its thing. In my opinion, rogaine should only be used to supplement propecia if you're not entirely happy with your results. It's a life long commitment and a massive pain in the ***...and you may never need it if propecia works for you. Propecia is the best option to fight hair loss...start with it and add other meds as needed...but be patient and give it time to work.

rogaine=regrowth ONLY. it does NOTHING to slow down hair loss!
propecia=main solution to halting/slowing hairloss. please try it if you're serious about hairloss!

There is no proof for propecia causing a shed and the sexual sides can appear but are completly reversible after you stop it.
