hey,

My name's Danny, I'm a 21 years old student from the Netherlands (which will explain the several errors my posts will undoubtingly contain), and since 4 years I've been suffering from hair loss. BUT, I don't suffer from Androgenetic Alopecia (Androgenetic Alopecia) or AA (Alopecia Areata). I suffer from Scarring Alopecia, which means my hairfollicles are being destroyed, only leaving small scars behind (and with that, no hope on regrowth :() When this first start I had no idea what to do, I was scared, and just hoped it would be temporary. Unfortunately it wasn't, and over the last 4 years I've lost a lot of hair, and my scalp shows some serious scars (which look like burnmarks).

I got really insecure and depressed, and the little self-esteem I had vanished. I'm currently visiting a dermatologist, and hopefully he can give me some kind of medication after he has the results from the biopsy that was performed 2 weeks ago. But I know that a possible cure can only stop the process, and not restore my hair to the way it once was. In an attempt to look better and more my own age (thinning hair can make you look really old imho) I started using a concealer. Here in Holland, the choice is very limited, there's only one sort of concealer available (maybe 2, but I'm not sure about that), and that's Fullmore.

I have to admit, it works, my hair looks better than it has done in a long time, but it has a major downside: my hair feels awful after applying Fullmore. It feels like I've used some sort of strong hairspray, and it becomes impossible to style, and takes me about half an hour extra to make it look decent. and that's really a shame, because apart from that I really like the effect it has on my hair. In fact, it has given me a huge confidence boost (among other things, because my life has changed a lot over the last few months, and all for the better).

So my question is: is there a product out there (which I can order over the internet), that can give me the same effect as Fullmore does (making it look as if I don't suffer from this annoying type of hairloss, without giving it this kind of hairspray-feel. it should stay on when it rains (whhich does happen a lot over here, in this country that I, filled with no-so-surpressed resentment, am forced to call my home for the time being), and when there's a strong wind. Swimming is no issue for me, since I don't like that anyway (childhood trauma).

I hope someone can help me,

Thanks in advance,

Danny

Check out Dermmatch (best concealer EVER!!) and maybe combine it with a microhair/fibrehair product like HairSoReal, Toppik or whatever. Should work great for you. You can order both products via the internet. Just google for it.

Good luck!

yeah, I have of course heard about these products, but don't you have to use some sort of hairspray to make sure the fibers actualy stick to the hair? in that case I would still have the same problem.

and using 2 concealers, isn't that really expensive?

It's not cheap but it's worth every cent IMHO. One disc of Dermmatch last for about 4-6 months so it's by far the most economical concealer on the market.

Yes, you need a small amount of hairspray to make sure the microhairs and Dermmatch stays on your head but after 10 minutes or so you forgot that you have applied hairspray. Shouldn't be that much of an issue. For me it works great and I have no problem with it. I think it's the best solution for concealing your hairloss. I tried most of the other products on the market like Volluma, Mane Spray, Couvre etc, and they all suck in comparison. Just my 2 cents.
