I have questions concerning minoxidil. I understand that it helps the thinning area's but can it prevent other area's from becoming thin. I ask because I am making the switch to topical minoxidil. With the current Lewenberg formula you spray it on your whole head so it not only regrows in the thin spots but protects excisting hairs. When I switch to Xandrox 5% I will be applying only on the problem area's leaving the healthy area's susceptable to DHT. Is this correct? Dr. Lee did not fully tand my question but agreed that unprotected hairs were susceptable to DHT. I am gathering that a DHT inhibitor must be used also.
Anyone with any knowledge about the actions of minoxidil please help.
I never really thought why you would apply Lewenbergs stuff 4x a day seems highly excessive. Also I guess I am confused because Lewenberg states that his product is the only one you wil need. You will not need a seperate DHT inhibitor with it. Although it has not re-grown significantly it has helped me keep my excisting hairline. The retin A has also dried my hair out significantly. I do not recommend it.
