Hey guys,
I've been on minoxidil for 4 months now and had some pretty good regrowth on my hair line, but I'm still shedding a lot of hairs all over. I was on finasteride for a 3 weeks, quit due to sides, but at the 1-month mark after taking my first pill I noticed a sudden, significant decrease inshedding, which has slowly been increasing again the last 2-3 months. I bought spironolactone cream to use on my hairline, but I'm not interested in putting that all over my scalp.
So I was thinking about making a topical with as many of the natural DHT blocking/anti-inflammatory ingredients as possible. I have 0 knowledge about how to compound something, so I was wondering if any of the more experienced users could advise me.
Vehicle - Emu and jojoba oil are supposedly helpful and non-clogging oils that penetrate the skin well, so maybe I could use this as a basis for the topical? Or would I need to add some kind of alcohol?
Saw Palmetto berry extract, taken from liquid caps. Do you guys think there would be such a thing as 'too much', or should I just pour as many of the liquid caps in as I can?
Azelaic acid - looks like it's pretty easy to order azelaic acid powder from alibaba, do you think it will dissolve in emu/jojoba oil?
Retinol powder, do you think this would be worth adding? It looks to be a bit more difficult to get.
Anything else? Other types of oil or berry extracts, I could add? Mainly looking for things that aren't dangerous in terms of side effects, don't need a prescription, not too expensive to order.\
Thanks in advance!
