Creating A Template With Long Hair - Advice Needed

Whilst this won’t be the case in a year, at present I have virtually a full head of hair. I’ve decided to get a system sooner rather than later in order to try and achieve a vaguely seamless transition.
I’ve been trying to make a template to send off ASAP, which is quite tricky given the amount of hair I have - there’s volume to my hair (c5 inches in length) so I don’t feel I’m getting an accurate template of the shape of my scalp. All the tutorials online seem to be done by guys with virtually no hair on the template area. Does anyone have any advice on this please?

Here are some photo’s for illustrative purposes. I wet the hair and combed it back around 30 mins ago

It is quite difficult to know where exactly you're thinning yes. I still change the size of my base all the time. But I started out at a salon that shaved down way too much for a stock system, so I've been now just trying to shave less and less, but really difficult to see yes where exactly the thinning starts. Rather take a slightly bigger area, I guess, as you're probably moving towards more severe Norwood?

It’s less knowing where I’m thinning (I’m just gonna shave the lot on top and keep the back and sides and put a system over it as if I was already nw6/7) and more getting the curve of my scalp accurately represented that’s the issue - that’s where the issue is

If anyone in london wants to earn a quick £20 and will help me with a template let me know - I’d rather it was a stranger with idea as to what they’re doing than my GF!

It's not hard to do, you need another person.

You dampen the hair and make a parting in a U-shape all around the thinning areas, brushing your hair forward in front.

With the cling film on your head (you are holding down the edges, at the sides), have your assistant trace that line, making a dot where your current hairline starts (middle).

Once that is done, remove the clint wrap, brush your hair straight back, and replace the cling film, aligning the dot with your hairline.

Now you can create the desired hairline.
