Hi Everyone

I'm really worried about my crown and having male pattern baldness starting there?

Since I can't see a doctor now (lockdown) I would be really thankful if you could share your opinions.

I'm 27 and have the male pattern baldness genes from mother's side.

no doesnt look like the typical swirl it's slightly more advanced.

Since you're 27 it doesnt looks like it's progressing fast to be honest.

That's good to hear. I normally had thicker hair but started using caffeine shampoo and my hair has suddenly got thinner and noticed this spot (though no receding hairline from the front). Guess I have to get on Propecia now.

do u have pics of frontal hairline?

finasteride is nothing but a dht blocker and might mess with your hormones. You're going to get mild regrowth or no results on it.

Yes (just took them and hoping the long hair doesn't ruin the diagnosis)

I keep getting opinions that it might be because I have straightened long hair and the visible crown spot is due to hair going in different directions. I'm confused because it's the first time I've had long hair in my life and don't know how it's ought to be (plus I've never looked at my crown before which adds to the confusion).

Good density from the front so I guess it's that small bald spot u just need to fix then.

Thanks for the insight :) I asked my sister to show me her crown today (ah desperate times) and her's looked very similar to me (pic attached). Just wondering (hoping) it might just be my hairstyle?

Yea looks first signs thinning, you seen a dermatologist? You can save it early and prevent hairloss with the BIG3 for male pattern baldness.

Please read the post of Sameer Khan
He started using minoxidil, finas and dutasteride and he developed a real problem with hair loss.

Relax, you have not problem with hair. Most people in this forum dream with you hair

See a dermatologist, as photos with flash / exposure can give the appearance of a thin spot in non balding hair, especially where there is high contrast between hair colour and skin - which is the case in your situation. My hair displays the same attributes and has been the same since my 20s, I'm now 41 with no visible change.

Your sister's hair looks the same which should give you some comfort. I personally don't think you're balding but get it checked to be certain, as if you are, it's early and there are many treatments available.

Thanks everyone for your input.

I am going to consult a derma but struggling with getting an appointment.

Ws wondering if anyone could help telling me if I have a receding hairline or not?

Looks like a perfect hairline.
I am only 17yo and I would kill for that hair lol.
Started balding with just 14/15 . I think you are fine, if you have male pattern baldness in family history, I would consider taking propecia or duta for preserving.
