Crown thinning ? Or normal cowlick

25M here. I'm really worried about my crown and I can't decide if it's thinning or not.

I shaved my hair thinking that it would be easier to see if I'm balding or not. But I feel I can still see better through my crown than the rest of my scalp despite my hair being really short. Is this normal even at a short length? (Was thinking I would be able to see through all my scalp in the same way since my hair were only 3mm short).

Anyway, here is my crown in different lenghts (from 3mm to 4 or 5cm), different angle, wet/dry and different lightings

I'm really worried about the last 3 pics, no matter the angle I can see my crown clearly

What do you think?

Most likely, everything is fine with you, but in order to accurately exclude baldness, you need to visit a trichologist and do a trichoscopy. This is the only way you can find out for sure whether you have thinning or not. And do not listen to people who speak with confidence about the presence of baldness in these photographs. Without trichoscopy, it is impossible to say for sure.

Will do! Thanks for your help

There was another poster on this forum with similar hair to yours that wasn't balding iirc

I think the short hair makes it look worse than it actually is. Most of the pics look normal to me, but the last 3 seem the most suspect. There isn't any flash and you can still see gaps, which makes me think there might be some very very minor thinning

Honestly the only way to tell if you are balding is to get it checked under a microscope. You can buy a USB microscope or just go to a dermatologist/hair transplant surgeon. This isn't advanced enough balding to see with the naked eye imo
