What you think is the situation here? I am 28 year old male, have always had thick hair or so my mama used to tell me. My father at 60 has a full head of dark hair. So did my mother's father who died with a good hair a decade ago. I have lived a very unhealthy life for past decade but arrived to my senses recently (work, diet: didn't use to eat much for a long time, sleep, alcohol consumption)

It looks better wet than dry. Wet:

Dry:

2 weeks after 3mm buzzcut (most recent):

even in the buzzcut pic the scalp is "shining" through the area that swirls.

That's balding right there.

Get on Finasteride, give it at least a full year before consider dropping it.
Thanks for answer, appreciate it. I am starting to be convinced myself it is balding. Just wonder whether it is actually "male balding" because the temples have remained unchanged since age of 23 when hairline became "mature" and also unhealthy lifestyle I have had. To be honest I see some middle-aged - old women with this kind of balding every day.

Rather than balding I would probably have a brain tumor (no least amount of kidding here, btw) so maybe Finasteride could come into question. Sprouting a pair of tits would be unfortunate but nothing compared to balding. Only a few days ago I randomly overheard 2 women discussing Tinder and that they set age <30 due to not wanting to date bald men. Didn't hear them mentioning anything of dislike towards men with tits.

Can you see the balding from the buzz-cut picture also? In my opinion buzzcut pic it looks like a "crater" that has a radius of a few centimetres of lower density hair than the hair around it but is this crater caused from lighting (by changing the camera angle the crater also become bigger or smaller)

I have been using Finasteride for more than 2 years now. I've grown quite a lot of hair with it and the other looks stronger and healthier.

I haven't felt ANY side effect. And I mean it. Not ever. So, try it and see how it goes for you.

Why is no one pointing out how insanely red his scalp is? Go to a dermatologist and get it checked out, you have serious inflammation. It probably still is male pattern baldness because it's a pretty clear pattern, but it could be being sped up by something treatable.

Also, who the f*** cares what two random girls said about tinder. Don't equate your hairloss close to 30 to people with life threatening conditions, grow the f*** up.

Thanks for pointing this out. I think diet could be the biggest problem for inflammation and I am trying to fix it. Still not eating 2 meals/day but at least in my workin place I eat 1 healthy meal from monday to friday.

I am treating depression and lack of motivation with insane amounts of sugar at the moment (combined 3 kilogram of candies and potato chips/week).

The scalp has been very itchy for 1 year but the itchiness clearly increased in past few weeks and I have been scratching it frequently (can't remember scratching it despite the itch in months before taking those pics in first post though so the redness visible is not due to scratching)

From pics: How would one describe this kind of hair loss if it is male pattern? Crown thinning or diffuse thinning?

EXACTLY and EXACTLY..... women will be women...they say ignorant stuff just like we do when we're with friends talking about how we wouldn't date a woman with XYZ.....yet, none of that matters when we love someone. I know you are being dramatic about hair loss next to dying and I know how you feel so i'll let that slide

SECONDLY: your scalp is on fire!!! JUST LIKE mine and I have an immuno response to a medication withdrawal and they suspect tinea capitis or candida. I think you need to go to a natural doctor and have a your diet, ,medication, antibiotic history exmained. You may have hair loss due to candida overgrowth like I do.... see my scalp is on fire too and I have a round balding ring with hair in the middle weird..... Last year my hair was 100% completely thick..its scary but yeah good call trialAcc

ALSO your pic with the red scalp - is like mine. It looks like I am diffuse balding all over BUT its an illusion. Its the was the flash bounces off top of scalp. I am not thinning all over on the top not at all.....just that circle ring area so i think your close up pic may look far worse than actual. I see some thinning with you...but it may not be an accurate picture....
