Ok here goes
I noticed hairs on my pillow when I was 20 and a sophmore in college. I didn't think much about it because my hair was shaggy and I always wore a hat. I took accutane for acne when I was younger and not only has it permanently dried out my skin on my face but also probably helped with my hairloss. Wearing a hat religiously my first two years of college didn't help either.
So fast forward to me now where I just graduated college and decided to do something about my receeding hairline. Since I am blonde and fair skin the pics look worse than I think I really am but you decide. My hair is only falling out from my hairline. It is thin an inch back from my original hairline but at least my original hairline is still there. I usually let it dry with it laying forward on my forehead so you can't even tell I am losing hair. My fight with sebboric dermatitis(or however you spell it) keeps my scalp on fire too.
I have a appointment with a Dermatologist Dec. 30th and plan to start propecia or proscar, rogaine, nizoral 2%, and t-gel. A question I have to others I have not found on the site yet is will tricomin or folligen help with dermatitis?
So I guess I just posted so others could see my results every month or so. I hope to thicken up my hairline or just stop hair from falling out. Other than that my life is fine, my career will start soon so I can pay for all this hair crap. If I do stop hairloss and not regrow I plan to get a transplant for my hairline in a couple years when technology improves to possible cloning. I also work out a lot and take some supplements such as creatine which I will start back on soon so I will see if that effects hair much.
I have pics but just saved on my hard drive(no web page). Let me know if I can post them because Im not sure how to.
Any questions post and I will answer them.
Thanks
Good luck to all

January 11th

Well I went to the dermatologist finally so I figured I would update for anyone that cares. I have "seb derm and a little male pattern baldness" from what the dermatologist says. For the seb derm I have nizoral 2% only 2 days a week because that is the most it should be used. After I get out of the shower I apply Luxiq foam to my scalp (dont know what this is). For the other days I am supposed to use tgel anti-flake shampoo. I started rogaine 5% a week ago and as of today I am on propecia. My pic looks pretty bad because of the lighting. My hairline is still original but it is thinning. I am hoping to at least stop my hairloss with these treatments. Any questions let me know. I also posted a pic at

Sorry no one replied to your original post. I'm in the same boat as you, just graduated college... :freaked2:

Good to know you're on a regimen recommended by a derm. Good luck!

Thanks Kevin. Whats your situation and products you are using to stop this follicle malfunction? It seems like about everybody on here is around 18-25 years old. I wish I would have known about propecia 2 years ago. This forum is awesome and good luck to all.

well i hav been on propecia for 8 days and minoxidil for 16. no results or side effects to post about yet (obviously). i just got a haircut for my big 3 day interview next week so i figured i would post new pictures. as usual my hairline is slowly thinning although it doesnt look too bad when it dries laying forward which is how it usually ends up for the day. my seb derm is clearing up a little with the nizoral 2%, tgel anti flake, and the occasional use of luxiq foam. anyways
good luck all

ok well here is my 3 month or so update. i have been on propecia and recently switched my dose from 1 mg per day to .5 because i wasnt getting morning wood and it has cleared up any of those problems. my hairloss has decreased to where i barely see 5 hairs between shampooing and running my hands through my hair per day. the hairline looks thicker as a whole and i have tons of 1/4 inch hair all over my hairline and temples. as it seems if those hairs thicken up and keep growing i MIGHT have my original hairline from before my hairloss. yes it does seem to be regrowing even in my temples. i have no camera anymore but hopefully will have one soon to update my pictures. good luck all

Around how much time did you start noticing any results?

the pointers i have are simply take propecia and make sure to apply rogaine 2 times a day if you start it. i use a variety of shampoos for my seb derm but i believe the stoppage of hairloss is due to propecia and the gain of the small hairs is rogaine. i noticed a decrease in hairloss fairly quickly like in 6 - 8 weeks and the small hairs in about 10 weeks

well i have been on minoxidil for 7 months and propecia for 6.5 now. my hair has good and bad days, probably a little worse than started. i have tons of little hairs that ive had for a couple of months but they havent matured into terminal hairs yet. anyways 95 & 96 are the new photos, my hairline is still intact and probably better than i started. there are small hairs straight across for a great hairline but they are thin. it looks worse but hopefully it will turn out better.

Well I figured I would give a little update after being on propecia, minoxidil, and nizoral for about 2 years. Hair is about the same as it was then. All the small vellous hairs are still the same smal vellous hairs. The only changes since then are in the last few months I cut down to using minoxidil once a night and I started taking 4000 mg of msm daily. The vellous hairs are growing slightly longer but still haven't turned terminal yet. I'm thinking of adding spectral dnc once a day to try and get these babies to grow.

Thanks for the update. The hair in August 05 looks noticably better than January 05 IMO.
