Current Hair Loss Stage

Hey all,


Just posting as an introduction to the forum here

I've noticed over a 2 year period from this month (March 2022) a slowly receding hairline

Current treatment is 5mg of Finasteride cut into quarters (1.25p day)

5 days 1.25g + 2.5mg on weekends

So 11.25mg per week since mid February

I also take oral Minoxidil 1mg tablet a day

All prescription is overseen with a GP though will increase appropriately if necessary

Receding has slowed however I have noticed zero regrowth

No side effects (no cosmetic sides or libido loss etc)

I am considering a hair transplant, as a long term solution but wanted to connect with other people on here to discuss it. Has anyone had luck with any in any major cities in Australia?

If other countries are an option how much would they cost for however many grafts, can post for reference to see how much it has receded for reference.

Yes I would recommend a hair transplant, not in Australia though - no notable surgeons there. Turkey, Europe or North America best bet. Turkey for value for money. Dr Keser, Dermirsoy, Erdogan, Bicer . Some good surgeons in Turkey

I would suggest you first stay consistent on the Finasteride for a year to ensure your hairloss stabilizes. What’s your family history of hairloss?

There’s a guy on YouTube called Saulist who is about your age who had a great FUT result from DHT clinic in Bangkok (Dr Pathomvanic).

Ok good to know as I don't find a lot of information about taking finasteride as preparation before the hair transplant. Makes sense as what I'll pay for are the hair follicles that are already lost.

If someone were to just resort to the hair transplant without a history of taking finasteride to stop the shedding how soon would they usually be back for another hair transplant?

Thanks guys, I appreciate the answers, feedback & recommendations for a doctor. However, I will continue on the finasteride and consider upping the dose until I'm sure the shedding has stopped. Will keep this updated with dosage and results etc.
