Cycle of Shedding

When using rogaine, I've read it's expected that you shed in the first few months. Does this usually only happen in the first few months ever using it, or is it a repeating cycle of shedding and regrowing, then shedding again and regrowing again? In other words, does the shedding/regrowing keep happening the whole time you use it?
