I had FUE 5 weeks ago and instead of cutting my entire head down to a #1 guard, the doctor cut three donor patches in lines because the rest of the hair in my donor area was long enough to cover the temporary bald spots.
It took 3 weeks for the unremoved donor hair to grow out from a #1 to a #4 guard which is the length of the rest of my hair. It's not been 2 more weeks (5 in total) and there are still distinct lines where the donor hair was taken.
Is this normal? Will I always have lines? I've heard of strip needing to be repaired but not FUE. In total, I only had ~1200 hairs transplanted.
My doctor also said that thinning hair is only noticable at less than 50% density and she said that she only takes 1 in every 5 hairs from the donor area (20%) so I wouldn't have thought I would have seen lines still.
Has anyone else had this experience?
thanks,
African
