Hi, I'm looking for an expert dermatologist in hair loss in Leeds.

Can you advise anyone?

Hi Ourkes,

I'm 38 and I have been using minoxidil, at moment 5%, since I was 24 and saw palmetto, which is started taking 2 years ago. I have a receding hairline but my main concern right now is the crown where the thinning spot is definitely becoming more noticeable.

Unless you're considering a hair transplant, there should be a number of derms who specialise in prescribing finasteride in Leeds or the surrounding area, which you can identify using google.

Or, try one of the hair loss clinics in Manchester such as Crown Clinic or Farjo Hair Institute. I had a consultation with Crown and the Dr there was excellent, great guy.

Or, consider an online consultation with Medikemos Hair Restoration in Brussels Belgium. They can prescribe topical finasteride or topical dutasteride - might be worth a chat as your hair loss sounds relatively slow and mild.

@Ourkes yes, my idea was that is time to try topical finasteride to improve my treatment. I will have a look at these clinics you suggested, thanks. I believe during the consultation they will check my scalp with a camera right? I think is called phototrichograms

They used a dermatoscope to check my hair. I think you should respond very well to a topical but you may have to order it from Medikemos as they are not FDA approved in the UK.

@Ourkes I understand, I was looking to have a consultation with a dermatologist first, I checked both clinics you suggested and they seem more specialised in hair transplant

Both provide general paid consultations too, as they can prescribe medication.
