Hi, Im 25 and I've been considering getting a hair transplant at this early age. I'm not completely sure if I gonna go this route at such an early stage and so I've been looking at all the options I have. I have gone through a lot of post in this forum regarding toppik, nanogen and dermmatch and I feel I want to try Dermmatch. But I wanted to get some opinions and information before ordering it

Here's my story and my pics:
http://www.hairlosstalk.com/interact/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=59796

After looking at my pics do you think Dermmatch can be a good option for me to conceal, so that I can wait for sometime ... like a yr or so before getting an hair transplant.

I have question about its application. My current regimen is:
- minoxidil 10% twice a day
- s5 cream(bought from here) twice a day
- nizoral shampoo every alternate day
The official dermmatch site says that we should shampoo our hair every morning to get the product out and then reapply it after applying minoxidil. My ques is what do you guys do when you want to apply minoxidil the second time at night. Do you shampoo again ... so that makes it twice every day?

Also what about people who use s5 cream? Do you apply mintop then s5 and then dermmatch. Is it even a good idea to apply dermmatch after applying the s5 cream?

Another thing I wanted to know is that does shampoing it off cause a lot of mess .. i read in some post that it leaves alot of marks and scum on the tiles.

Thanks

You're going to have try both dermatch and fibers to see what works best for you. Using both isn't a bad idea.

I've never used topicals so I can't help you there. By the way, dermatch leaves no mess. That's absurd.

I'd just like to add that I think fibers look better than dermatch, but you gotta use a lot and the crap is expensive. Painting it first with dermatch (which lasts longer) and then applying the fibers has helped me cut down on the amount of fibers I need to use.

Mind you I've never used any of this stuff when I had medium length hair like yours. I could cover most of the thinning with a good hairstyle. I only started using it after my hair starting growing in after a complete shave.

I don't really know much about how this stuff works with hair your length. My guess would be that dermatch works better for shorter hair because you're painting your scalp. Fibers might be better for you, but like I said it takes a lot to get perfect coverage and the container goes real fast so I'd consider using both or at least trying both alone and then together to see what works best.

I asked for advice on concealers before and the response I got was to try 'em all and see what works best for me. After using them I can see that that was really good advice. Order both fibers and dermatch and see what you like best. Everyone's different.

Also, lock that sh*t in with the most powerful hairspray you can find - stuff that turns you hair into rock and I guarantee it'll still look good even the morning after. Just make sure it's unscented so you can spray it alot on.

In case you're worried about hairspray causing more hairloss - I've used gallons while I've been on propecia and I shed virtually no hair and have had regrowth.

I was leaning towards dermmatch but I guess now I'lll try all 3.

Again, can someone please share there experience regarding using minoxidil and/or s5 cream twice a day with dermmatch and fibers?

Thanks

The Dermmatch colour chart is not great is it, the medium brown looks very light. What's the rule of thumb for this stuff, with med brown hair, should you get the dark brown one?

Actualy I always go a shade lighter with concealers. And colour charts rarely match what the actual product looks like.

lol no one has answered the original post's question. I would like to know the answer as well- how do you apply topicals twice a day if youre supposed to shampoo dermmatch out every time?

Saf, Is it worth trying Dermmatch, instead of the fibres? I hear so many mixed reviews, that Dermm is just like painting your scalp etc?

Flaming, I would guess you would have to wash it out before applying the topicals, I can't see any other way?

Do you rate it? On it's own I mean. Why do most people use it WITH fibres, won't it stand up on it's own?
