Any experiences of some improvement after bringing D levels to within range ?

Also the Doctor seems a little bit too new too young. He is suggesting to go directly on this mega weekly dose. Any thoughts ?

what are your vitamin d levels, and what exactly is this megadose you are referring to?

I would support dietary changes over meds in most young guys losing hair, but then that's just me! :)

Vitamin D definitely can't hurt!

Chuck some SDG or HMR lignans in and get a good diet going (like in my regimen) and you might find the problem goes away by itself. If not it will clear the road for other treatments such as to tackle insulin sensitivity (lipoic acid, brewer's yeast) or 5ar levels (beta-sitosterol, Nizoral or finasteride).

Statistics seem to show that in young people pulling down insulin and raising SHBG (lowering androgens to healthy levels) often does the trick :)

And yeah get your vitamins and nutrients! :)

Hoppi,I dont seem to find any statistics linking male pattern baldness in young people with their insulin and SHBG levels.

BTW I have been avoiding junk and consume foods containing minimum fat for more than two years but this hasn't really helped much with reversing or controlling male pattern baldness.On the bright side I am really fit and healthy :woot: ,so there is no harm in trying this but relying totally on this to cure male pattern baldness is insane.

Hi, funny this thread as come to life...altough mantaining since November, my regime, wich is a Korean serum, that is mainly based on patented OPC's, Copper Peptides, Bio-peptides, Laminin, Oleanolic Acid, Menthol and Licorice essential oil extract, betaine and a patented form of Selenium..plus an internal of Beta Sitosterol/OPC's/Taurine/ECGC's...and having liked the results (altough to early to see any significant improovement) i recently (from begining February to now) added vitamin D at a 1800 IU day level..and coincidence or not, i'm feeling not only much better physicly and spiritually..but my hair is recencly been much better...no "bad hair days" from the last 2 weeks till now, ehmm can't explain you, but it definitly looks much better...of course it also has to do with the usual regime, but i'm sure that this adding of vitamin D is doing something...now after i saw that i had no adverse reactions, i'm going to jump to a new daily dose of 5000 IU (or maybe more in the future), cause i read there's no problem in doing so...i'll keep you guys updated!..oh, it also made my sexual life better..how's that for added bonus!? :)

lol well it's what the hair specialist advised me to do hehe

I dunno it just makes sense man, if you pull your SHBG down too low, you will lose hair, if you're a guy.

Whether it triggers some kind of gene is another issue, and it's also worth looking at liver and thyroid problems to make sure your body is actually regulating hormones effectively. It's not too smart to just blindly block 5ar if somewhere further back in the line your body is letting free T circulate like crazy lol

I think also the definition of a "good diet" is very broad. I mean there is even a theory MPBers might be allergic to gluten!

My point is a diet needs to be quite accurate to really run a chance of knocking male pattern baldness on the head, IMO :)

I agree a bad diet can worsen things up at a nasty rate in genetically susceptible individuals.Its quite difficult to define a good diet these days with all these contradictions popping up every now and then.

hehe yeah true :)

the main thing to watch though seems to be liver fat production and blood glucose. Those are the two things that seem to really affect SHBG levels, and that dictates your free T levels (obviously combined with the amount actually being produced in your body, but we're young so that amount should be fine or a little high).

Androgen balance should be at the heart of any regimen for under 35s I think ^_^

Hell it should be part of ANY regimen, it's just I have a theory that if you increased T to good levels in older guys and dropped their insulin resistance, stuck them on a good diet... they MAY... MAY stop balding completely!! O.O

Your theory seems sensible and might benefit to a great extent when combined with proven treatments.All you need are some unbiased volunteers who can provide you with updates every couple of months for a year or two regarding the condition of their hair. :)
