Did a buzz cut stop you from looking in the mirror every min

Thinking about buzzing it because of the stress as you might know. I find myself consumed with my hair loss (left temple corner and minor in right temple corner) and want to shave it off (to like a #2) but am scared that it will make it worse in terms of stressing about it. Will I end up checking the mirror more than I do now or will the buzz cut let me forget about it for a while since theres nothing I can do. Any experiences will help.

I shaved my head completely, not just down to a buzz.
Actually, I find myself looking in the mirror now more often.
The reason is because it doesn't look bad. If you opt for a very short hair cut and it's not to your liking, you can alway let it grow back.

I have always had longer hair, so making the step to a virtual skinhead was not easy. For a while you have to cope with comments every time someone sees you with drastically different hair. I found this hard to deal with. But yes, once it is done, I felt a lot better and checked in the mirror etc a lot less.

Unfortunately I saw a photo under harsh light where I looked completely bald (it was around a grade 3 at the time, and I am a diffuse thinner with slight recession) so I am not sure whether I should go that short again.

hey man, i have had some experience with this. i never wore my hair that long, but have been cutting it short off and on for several years. finasteride has helped, but thinking about getting off of it.

looking in the mirror constantly like an obsession isn't particularly healthy. i used to do it. i think if my hair was thinning again badly, might do it. i buzz cut my hair with a #2 all the time. cyclical, grow it out to a 4 or so and then cut it down.

when i did this while i was thinning, it is a liberating feeling, like saying just screw it. i still looked in the mirror, but maybe it wasn't as much. i don't know that i felt better about my hair necessarily though. but it was a bit of a liberating feeling.

When I buzzed my hair down to a #2 or #3, I found myself looking at my hair in the mirror less than when it was longer. The reason is, when my hair was short, the hair loss was harder to detect and, as a result, I didn't think about it and look at it as much.

thats what im thinking Im thinking if I go down to a 2 or 3 and wear it down there I wont worry about it as much because I wont notice as much loss and I wont be worrying how it looks every minute because when it is that short, it will look the same no matter what.....Does this make sense or am I wrong?

Yes, it does make sense. What you wrote is similar to my reasonsing for cutting my hair short in order to think about my hair loss less than I used to.

At a number 1 yes as its very hard to tell that the top is thinner than the sides. If I don't maintain this length by buzzing every 4/5 days then I start to look at the top in bright light and speculate how it will look longer density wise.
