did anybody tried topical zinc ?

as the title asks --
did any of you guys tried a continus use of topical zinc (zinc oxide) as part of his regimen basis ?

And what would that accomplish for Androgenetic Alopecia?

Zinc oxide? Zinc sulphate.. Supposed to (completely) inhibit 5-ar. Yes I tried that; I tried to substitute zinc sulphate for minoxidil, but it could not maintain my hair - after about a month after I noticed increased shedding. I stopped. Because zinc and minoxidil together do not work better than minoxidil alone.
