Did BALDNESS motivate you? How so?

I know that going BALD will probably do me a lot of good. Why would I say such a thing? 8O Well, I know that if I lost it, I would become the angriest motherfucker on the planet. i'd be bitter and motivated to succeed. I would pump iron like a madman. My bitterness and anger would sharpen my decision making capabilities. Hell, i wouldn't give a f*** about anything anymore. people would accept me for what i am, and that would create freedom in the mind. (because when you're losing it, you always imagine what people will think and how it will effect you).

Has anybody that has gone bald or shaved it etc felt like this? is this a reality? How did baldness motivate you? Were you able to turn your hairloss into something positive?

To the other side: Did baldness really hurt you worse than you imagined it would? Did anyone expect baldness to motivate you, but it turned out to be bullshit? Experiences please

I would like to shave it then let it all grow back, but unfortunately for most of us there is no going back. I agree with your statements above though.

Sure. Wake up each day and say "i'm going bald and I dont give a f***. I'm going to be a cue ball soon and everyone will laugh at me. I'll never have sex again nor probably ever get close to a woman. Everytime I go out to eat, I will be secrety laughed at EVERYWHERE."

I'm serious. When hairloss starts bothering you, say the above. It's called cognitive therapy and it works well. Force yourself to think it when you're at work...in the shower.... After a while, you'll find that you get tired of thinking (and fearing) the same thing over and over again. You'll eventually become numb to it and it won't bother you anymore. The reason hairloss bothers so many people is because they're scared of the unknown. Fear comes from within, not from some external source

Sorry man but I think that is just terrible advice. 3 words, YOU ARE THAT. Tell yourself negative things and you will be one miserable f****r. tell yourself positive things and you will grow. Some people talk themselves into the ground, never to escape the prison they designed for themselves in their mind.

I mentioned this in another post but I'll say it again. I just shaved my head today. It wasnt with a trimmer, it was with a razor. i dont have one hair on my head. Did it change my day? No! No one gave a sh*t about wether i had hair on my head or not. No women ran away. No one gave me flack about it. If anything some guys at the gym gave me a smile and a nod to aknowledge the freed head. It aint no big deal to have a bald head.

Shaving my head has been a real eye opener as to how much i was feeding myself such negative messages about going bald, when in the end everything is the same as it ever was.

agree with Hairybush 1,

that stuff IS cognitive therapy, and it WILL work, but it will work to re-inforce the neurological pathways in your brain that link hairloss to negative thoughts.

Hairloss sucks, especially if your head is big, like mine. but some folks on this board put it up there with losing an arm and a leg.

It motivated me to get on treatments. Then it motivated me to go hide in a dark room and hope for the best. Now it has motivated me to purchase a gun just in case everything falls through.

f*****g idiots. If you knew anything you would know telling yourself positive things is NOT the way to get over something like hairloss. It will devour you.

Positive thoughts and positive pep talking to yourself is reassurance. Reassurance has a short decay time. This means it is a temporary fix. It lasts only a short while.

You have to accept the fact that you *may* be an ugly f****r bald, that you *may* never ever have sex again, that hair cloning *may* never come. Only then will you be free from the darkness you call your subconscious
