I wanted to share my story and help other realize what could be causing their hair loss has the easiest remedy. Its your diet! Most cases of hair loss that I have seen can be attributed to gluten. I stopped eating it 3 years ago and only after a few months my bald spot was filled with hair!
My mother had the same bald spot, and my sister got it. Fortunately shortly after mine became noticeable I was already diagnosed with Crohn's disease. The GI told me to stop only dairy, but fortunately my sister had found a wonderful naturopath who told us both to stop eating gluten and soy, in addition to stopping dairy. So we did. I really stuck to it, she didn't (because she didn't have the pain or symptoms I did with the Crohn's) but she did realize relief from fibromialgia from eating less gluten, dairy and soy.
I have a full head of hair, no bald spot, but I do notice if I do eat dairy, which I do sometimes when there is nothing else to eat (like cheese grits at a restaurant which I love!) that my hair starts thinning a little)
So, if you want to try omitting one of these items at a time for 1 week each and then reintroducing them to see how you feel you may do that, or 21 days each and then see. Or get lab work done to see if you have a sensitivity to each. I would strongly recommend trying it.
Also, use products like shampoo and such without parabens, gluten, dairy and soy.
Good luck!
Tina
