Does anybody know the correlation between diet/food and Androgenetic Alopecia. Are there some diets out there that are beneficial for growing hair. Atkins?

I do realize that diet alone can't save you but I wanted to know what everybody else is doing besides popping pills, using hair ointments and shampoos.

Someone suggested this link regarding diet and Androgenetic Alopecia <--It's not endorsing a product. But the advice - like avoid starches and sugars sounds like Atkins?

Carbohydrates are not necessarily bad for hair; actually carbs are a good source of B-complex vitamins, which are beneficial for healthy hair. But many times, the carbs that we eat are too refined, such as white flour, sugar, breads, etc.

Eating more nonrefined natural carbs, such as brown rice, whole grains and cereals, potatoes, yams, brown rice, etc. can promote healthy hair.

Also, the amino acids that come from the process of breaking down protein are used to help create new protein, which in turn are in your hair, nails and muscles. There are also many other health benefits to having a fair amount of protein in your diet.
