Do men with diffuse patterns respond better or worse to finasteride? Interested in hearing about your experiences. I'm 24, thinning into a 5/6, currently on finasteride and nizoral for 6-7 mos, I've basically retained, don't see new growth though.

Have you thought about adding minoxidil? I'm around the same age/pattern and I'm using the Big 3 with great success. I attribute most of the regrowth to minoxidil as the research suggests that finasteride has little effect before month 3-4. viewtopic.php?f=28&t=72521

If you haven't taken pics of yourself, it's hard to tell, especially for a diffuser. If you start minoxidil, take pictures even if you aren't planning on posting them. I would probably be disappointed with my results if I hadn't.

Im diffusing on the top of my head about a nw2. I have a good portion of my hairline still but its just gotten thin on top. Been on finasteride probably 2 months now and rogaine for like 4 months.

Still waiting to see the end results but the biggest part of hair regrowth i see atm is around the front corners of my head on the edge of my current hairline which was probably the last place I expected. Most of that is rogaine since the hairs are about 1 1/2 - 2inches long and that matches up to about the time i started rogaine.

Idk, i'll have to wait another 3-4 months to judge finasteride, but rogaine does seem to help regrow hair and oddly its on the left/right temple corners of my hairline. my mid front hairline has lost a small bit of ground but not much.

Yeah I really should start using minoxidil. I might buzz my head and start using it. Also considering switching to dutasteride if I see no improvement in the next few mos.

Just checked your post and that's great success.

Mine is going the same way. Thin all over the top, but thinner at the crown and temples. I hope I respond as well! I am already seeing small vellus hairs on the hairline (like you, this was the last place I'd expect them because it seems to be the consensus that it's harder to grow these hairs back).
