Diffuse Thinners: What's your regimen?

My hair loss is pretty even throughout my whole head, it worse in a few areas though. I'm going to be starting Fincar soon, a 6th of a pill a day. I started nizoral 2x a week and am considering using Saw Palmetto and Biotin.

Should I consider using minoxidil if not over my entire head then on the thinner spots?

What else do you guys think I should take? I want to keep my routine as simple as possible and would like to avoid topicals if possible, but if they will help then I'll do it. Thanks!

I spread it on the thin areas

I would recommend that you use minoxidil. It is important to have a growth stimulant.

As a diffuse thinner myself, I just apply the minoxidil to the thinning areas, the temples and the crown. The minoxidil will spread a little once it is absorbed in your skin.

If you're just trying to maintain what you have now i would only use the Fincar, good shampoos (Tsal, Tgel, Nizoral), and a good assortment of vitamins. I think if it comes to the point where you definately feel that you are going to need more growth then i would try adding minoxidil. of course this is just my opinion.

i've read of cases where people who used minoxidil (those that it didn't work for). it made them shed, but they didn't get any growth. to me it seems like a bit of a gamble (although i could be wrong, and the people could have been not been very accurate with their assesmants).

I would really like to see a study of the hair count for those who used minoxidil, but didn't get regrowth.

Isn't that more of standard male pattern baldness description than diffuse thinning? Diffuse thinning is usually an even amount over the entire top of the head.

Yeah that doesn't sound like diffuse thinning to me. Diffuse is when your whole top of the head goes at once. That's at least what I have going on. My regimen hasn't regrown anything yet. (See Below)

The hair is thinning all over the top but the worst in the couple inches right past my front hairline (which hasn't receded whatsoever), also a bit more noticible on the crown. I want to use minoxidil but it seems like a hassle, and a big committment. Is it a pain in the *** to use? I'm probably going to have to use it soon.

What else do guys recommend?

Which would you prefer? Rubbing minoxidil on your head once in the morning and once at night? Or having a chrome dome? Your hair isnt going to grow back on its own without you performing some kind of new ritual on it that takes all of 20 seconds to do.

I am happy with my results so far and its only been just over three months. I have no complaints about finasteride or minoxidil except that the Rogian dries on my scalp and makes it look like I have dandruff sometime. Im sure there is something for that too, but I'm just happy to be growing my hair back.
