Diffuse Thinning Or Paranoia (18 Years Old)

Firstly I want to see my mums dad had a full head of hair when he died and my dad has a full head of hair with thinning due to age at age of 50

So basically about 8 months ago and had a massive shed of hairs which I think was due to stress as about 3 months before I had something that stressed me out a lot more then my general anxiety. Anyway at the time of the shed I was torn between it being stress or the begging in if diffuse thinning. When my hair was wet I was able to see me scalp and when it was dry I’d still be able to see my scalp in some places if i looked closely. The texture of the hair was also really different being a lot harder and greasier than normal. In general it looked thinner.

Through the past 8 month I have been thinking it getting better and even now I’m still 90% sure it’s getting better or atleast hasn’t got worse. I can no longer se my scalp when it’s wet apart from the days I shampoo where the hair clumps at the root and this is only at the front middle of my hair where my parting is. My crown has also got a lot less visible under flash of a camera decreasing in half the size. However the main thing that’s still worry’s me is that I still shed thinner hairs than my normal ones. They are the same length and still able to hold their weight but they just aren’t as thick as the normal ones. At about 3 months into this thing I was only shedding thin hairs and barely Andy thick ones, now it’s like 50/50

My question is would this be normal after Telford effluvium for the hairs to grow back thinner and gradually get thicker again or could this be diffuse thinning

Also this is kinda weird but I have a lock of my hair from like 3 years ago and I was looking at the hairs in that and some of the hairs in that are thin compared to the rest but again still the same length

Thanks

Best advice is to see a dermatologist to diagnose whether it is just telogen effuvium or if you are balding. On the bright side the spot on the crown looks like a normal whorl, and does look a bit smaller in the newer pictures (diffuse thinning as a result of telogen effluvium would make these look more noticeable).

In short see a dermatologist and have them do a miniaturization study and/or a biopsy to get a proper diagnosis.
