Hello I'd like to start off saying I'm a bit worried about my hair I'm not gonna try to explain what's been going on because I'm sure the pictures I post will be enough for you to get an understanding but here within the past 6-7 months my hair has been thinning around the temples and where my side burns meet the side of head now I'd like to point of that I do indeed have long hair and I do indeed wear my hair pulled back at times usually in buns or ponytails so it's hard for me to pin point exactly what's going on whether this is from traction alopecia or Ive got diffuse thinning or even maybe this is all normal for someone my age (im 18) I've heard a lot about maturing hairlines and what not and as far as I've read a mature hairline would be classified as a Norwood 2 but that's the thing how can you classify whether or not my hair is on its way to a Norwood 2 or Norwood 3?? I'm extremely worried about this and I really wanna say something to my mom but she is out of town a lot and I don't have insurance so it's not like I can just go to a dermatologist that's why I am here maybe you guys could give me a little insight into what's going on and maybe ease my mind or maybe even give me a few tips to correct my problem I've added a few pictures one of my left temple one of my right temple and two of my crown one with flash and one without please tell me me what you think

Bruh what did I tell you about the pony tails and man buns? No guy worrying about hairloss (especially traction alopecia) should be wearing that hairstyle. I still think your hair is fine. If you are too worried go to a derm and get it mapped out

I know and I don't hardly wear man buns or ponytails unless I have to but it seems that it's not getting any better nor is it getting any worse and it's driving me crazy

It doesn't make sense to me though why my hair would be thinning on the sides of my head along with my temples

It's been like a week. It takes at least a few months to rebound from TA. Stop worrying about it my man. Your hair looks great. Go to a derm if you are worried and I think he/she may dampen those worries

So I've done a bit of research and I've come to believe what I'm experiencing isn't from male pattern baldness but it's possibly my thyroid I have 3 symptoms of a thyroid disease which is thinning hair, lack of ability to gain weight and insomnia And when I was younger I had my thyroid tested and my levels were high but they never treated me because they said they didn't see anything on the ultrasound do I sound crazy for believing that all this is caused from my thyroid???
