I have taken finasteride for over 10 years now and have limited side effects. I recently changed supplier as I have noticed a change in the ease of availability and my new supplier is NHS registered.
My initial concern was that within a few weeks of taking these new meds I started to shed and worried that I was taking meds that were not as good as the previous ones.
I decided to send a blood sample away and have now received my result -
DIHYDROTESTOSTERONE result 0.42 nmol/L 0.33 - 3.01 (normal range)
So I'm happy to see I'm at the lower range.
Also I have noticed that after my initial worry several weeks ago, my hair has recovered.
For anyone who has concerns about meds of levels, they should consider a blood test. It's piece of mind.
