Diindolylmethane (DIM)

Thinking about adding DIM to my regime, not to counter any sides I'm getting from finasteride or anything like that. Just general health and well-being. However, anyone notice how damned expensive DIM supplements are??? Anyone know why this is? Or of any fair priced sources?

Nah, not really. Those two substances (one is produced in your gut by consuming the other) are actually taken during the off phase of steroid abuse to prevent gynecomastia (b**ch tits). They do so by altering production pathways and promoting an increase in the ratio of estrone/estradiol. Both estrone and estradiol are endogenous estrogens, difference being that estradiol is the more potent of the two (testosterone/dht is almost an apt comparison). By increasing the amount of estrone and decreasing the amount of estradiol you end up creating less of an estrogen effect across your body because the less active estrone will be in contact with receptors more than the more potent estradiol.

Alternatively you could just simply eat more cruciferous vegetables which are great for male health anyways and which these two compounds are extracted from. Seriously make up some coleslaw, broccoli stir fry or brussel sprouts and bacon. Lot cheaper than the pills.

what do you consider expensive?
I was thinking of adding this to my vitamin regime as well, and i found a 4 month supply of it on amazon for like $20

I define expensive as anything natural or herbal that costs more then finasteride. finasteride for a year is around $40 for me. Give or take a little.

4 month supply for $20? Where are you seeing this?
