I noticed there’s this persistent myth in the forums that Asians don’t go bald lol.
Many East and SE Asian men do go bald but just not as aggressively and as often as non-Asians do. There is a thriving hair transplant surgery industry in South Korea after all. Male pattern baldness among younger mainland Chinese men is apparently rising. There was also a study years ago that observed Japanese men appear to start balding 10-15yrs later on average than caucasians do. I suspect this is the case for many other East and SE asians based on my own observations while traveling. I never saw any higher Norwood Japanese, Korean, Thai, Filipino, Viet men that were of working age but did see a decent amount of bald/balding men that were very old.
I am ethnically southeast Asian and have no known white relatives going back 3 generations but all the men on my dad’s side ended up going slick bald NW5-6 by 55. Two of my full-blooded Asian friends who grew up in the US went NW3/4 in their mid/late 20s and have been shaving it ever since.
I do agree that Native Americans generally rarely ever seem to go bald.
