Hi, I have never used minoxidil before and I'm planning on using it as I'm experiencing hair loss. I have a question though, can I just use Kirkland foam (the minoxidil I'm planning to get) on its own without a specific shampoo? And how many times should I shampoo per week? I'd appreciate it if someone answers, thank you!

Use a Ketoconazole shampoo, preferably Lipogaine Big 3 Shampoo or Regenepure DR. Using either product will honestly provide the cleanest scalp giving the best environment for topical baldness treatments, including Minoxidil. I use Kirkland Minoxidil foam and have been successful with it.

Thanks! How often should I use it and is there a specific time as to when I should use it? And btw is your hair relatively long? As I want to grow my hair and wondering if the foam would be strong enough, Thanks again for replying!

While it is not necessary to use a special shampoo, they can help.

What I do is I use Nioxin Level 1 cleanser to clean my scalp and then Argan Oil to cleanse it (both purchased on Amazon). I've been doing this every day for about 6 months now and I can confirm that it has increased the volume of the hairs that aren't falling. I'm a firm believer that these shampoos won't really re-grow hair, but they will make your hair healthier, cleaner, and give it a much better feel and shine. Even using these shampoos I would still shed in the shower.

Good luck!
