Do Minoxidil Sides Subside With Time

I've recently started using rogaine foam. It makes me feel completely spaced out and lightheaded. My face feels slightly numb. I'm not overdosing - I'm using slightly less than the recommended dose.

Bearing in mind that you're answering a question that's been asked a thousand times.

Do the sides tend to dissipate over time?

Minoxidil is knocking down my IQ!! I can't have that...hairloss is such a mind screw!!

Thanks for the community - it helps!

I personally have always been sensitive to palpations and minoxidil gave me those and a racing heart the first couple weeks, and now oddly enough I'm having less palpations than before I started it. Sounds weird but that's just me I guess

I thought I'd update this thread so others can better inform their decisions.

My sides are gone almost entirely. I no longer get light headed and my face doesn't feel numb. I can still perceive that I've administered a drug but it is merely a sensation rather than a negative side effect.

2 weeks in and I've not noticed any change in hair. Neither a major shed nor regrowth (obviously too soon for that anyhow)

6 months in. regime is minoxidil kirkland's foam. 1 cap full once a day -- twice maybe 3-4 days a week. have only missed one or two days total.

I can't say that I've had a remarkable response. I am a diffuse thinner with temples at about NW2-2.5. I fully expected to respond well - for some reason I took it as a given that because I'm a diffuse thinner, my hair loss is not terribly advanced and my over all health that I was going to end up with a thicker head of hair.

Truthfully, I can say that perhaps I've maintained. My temples have grown in a bit but my crown hasn't thickened up.

And the sheds!! holy! man alive I take baths - meaning that I can see all the hair that I've lost when I get out - it all there! And I still lose easily 100-150 per bath. It's a wonder i have any hair left at all.

I'd rate minoxidil as a 4/10 maybe 5. I see its success as an indication of how desperate hair loss makes some people feel. How could a drug that works so poorly have become a juggernaut otherwise?

I try to stay positive but I do suffer from bouts of anxiety. My social life has definitely taken a hit. Hopefully, 2018 brings something better.

How about trying the liquid? It absorbs better.

Foam sucks, never did sh*t for me. Liquid is better.

I've tried finding studies of foam vs liquid and can't find any, but I bet liquid gives better results. It does for me.

Thanks guys I'll give it try...I don't like the sounds of the 2-3 hr dry time...but we'll see how reality plays out.

may 2018 make these conversations archaic relics of the past

Cool. Ya I think 3 hours is out of control, I use a lot of it and I think it takes a lot less time than that to dry.
