Do Not Combine Topical Finasteride With Oral Dutasteride Or Oral Finasteride

This is the message i got from the Dr. i use to get my prescription for topical minoxidil and finasteride:

Do NOT combine topical finasteride with oral dutasteride or oral finasteride ..... can result in increased risk of irreversible and potentially fatal side effects.

Anyone ever hear of this being a potential fatal combination?

I am combining them.
I take oral 2.5mg finasteride 0.5 mg dutasteride 2x per week, 5% minoxidil in morning and 15% minoxidil and 0.1 topical fina at night. I also take saw palmetto and heaps of other stuff.

So far so good, a little lower libido but can still get it up, some people take estrogen and cypro etc and dont die, I think your Doctor is exagerating a little.

Ill let you know if I die....

fatal? No way. The risk of side effects increases along with the serum levels of each drug. Whether or not it's oral, topical, or a combination of the two is immaterial.

Why would you want to take both topical and oral finasteride? The response curve for the dosages show that after 1.25mg or so, the amount of dht reduced is pretty much constant.

Me, I take both.
My assumption is to bomb DHT in the scalp.
I also take Dutasteride. Overkill but f@&k DHT
