Everyone loses 50-100 hairs everyday, that's not to say that you might lose 200 one day and only 20 the next, but that is just an average. Even people suffering from male pattern baldness might only see a small increase in the number of hairs they lose everyday, unless they are taking or using some medications. The thing is people without male pattern baldness have dormant hair follicles that will start producing hairs again while people with male pattern baldness will start producing thinner hairs that have a shorter growth period than normal.
So to answer your question it really is unknown as to whether people with male pattern baldness are losing the normal 50-100 hairs a day or whether they lose more. It would vary too much from person to person to get an accurate reading, of course this is concidering that the person suffering from male pattern baldness was not taking any medication that would cause more hair loss to occur.
On last thing combing your hair back does put more stress on the hair than combing it strait, so this may cause a few hairs to fall out but I would not think a large number though.
