Hey guys . I know this is a familiar thread topic . But im just curious if anyone out there can tell me how they enhance their minoxidil, what ingredients you add and the measure you add . Much appreciated fellas . I heard there was a paper out there with a trial with minoxidil with b12 added . Or minoxidil with 0.1% finasteride ? I would just like my minoxidil to be more benifcial if at all possible . Thanks :)

I recently started to use Kirkland over Rogaine Foam and added some liquid B12 in it, going to add also Azelaic Acid and see if anything changes.

Interesting combo. if you care to elaborate any more on your thoughts behind the B12 additive I would be grateful. Thanx..

If you're not going for Lipogaine this is the recipe everyone should be using for minoxidil.

I was using Lipogaine before but they stopped adding AA to it, also its pretty overpriced in my opinion

Plus I heard it's pretty greasy so maybe this is the best minoxidil option.

I've been thinking about this lately. You never know how long a brand that you may come to rely upon will be around for (Xandrox, Lipogaine with AA, etc.) which is a fear. I don't really get the impression Rogaine have been making much effort towards improving their product tough sadly. It's been 20 years or something and all we've had is the foam development.

The only "special" minoxidil compounds I know of in the UK that have stuck around are the Belgravia ones. Various strength creams etc. with stuff like AA and retinol and so on. God knows how it being a cream affects absorption or that of other topicals you may want to apply afterwards. Belgravia also charge an absolute fortune for the stuff, and you'll be lucky to get the minoxidil alone I imagine without being roped into some package. The vehicle for these other minoxidil products also makes me question absorption, not to mention the quality of the products in general (do you get the ingredients it claims etc.). Wish Rogaine would up their game or start debunking some of these ingredients.

About lipogaine, I read the list of ingredients, yes it's good, but almost all the ingredient+more are also present in Spectral DNC-L and the price is similar.

I've heard very bad things about the percentage of active ingredients in their products. I was planning on putting together a post on this sometime soon. Their nanoxidil formula has something like 0.00015% nanoxidil.

Well, i don't know about nanoxidil, and it's something unproven, i wasn't talking about it. I meant spectral DNC-l, which has 5% minoxidil.
But your aversion to this product seems quite strange to me, denoting that it has exactly the same ingredients as Lipogaine.
And what aboput that percent, you measured it?

I also used spectral DNC-L :D , it was very thick in my opinion, almost like a glue, very hard to get on the scalp if you dont have 1mm hair lenght, and if its that thick, makes you wonder if it gets absorbed into the scalp as it should.

Vitamin B12 can be added to minoxidil by crushing and mixing it with minoxidil:

for a 100 ml solution I wouldn't add more than 5 1000ug pills. The systemic daily usage of b12 is only 2.5ug for the entire body. 5 pills will yield 50 ug/ml which even is way overkill, I had mixed 10 pills into a 100ml bottle before, but it was borderline insanity :)... the in vitro study above used an upper bound level of 25ug per ml... since a minoxidil bottle has only 60ml, 2-3 pills (1000ug per pill) would be more than enough, this also reflects how cheap and easy this simple addition is ;)

But how to use vitamin B12 and castor oil? In what dosages?

I have used lipogaine for 4 months and the result was good , I have posted my pics in dermarolling results , but now I have started to use minoxidil 16 % with finasteride 0.1 topical , its 2 weeks so far and I need to give it at least 2 months and see the result.

I added 12.5 mg of finasteride (2.5 proscar tablets) to 60 ml of minoxidil last night... It dissolved rapidly .. .so this morning I used 1ml of the minoxidil with finasteride....ive read a few threads on It here and there and thought what the hell , why not.

I 'enhanced' my minoxidil with a 1.5mm dermaroller, used once a week, for 4 months. Didn't have any cosmetic effect, however.
