The common myth is that the hair from the back of the head will last you a lifetime because it's of the highest quality and it has the highest DHT resistance. While it usually is of the highest quality and it may have the highest DHT resistance, that in itself does not guarantee it will last you a lifetime. The hair may still be susceptible to falling out, especially when moved above your forehead and/or when your DHT levels change (and they can).
So basically, undergoing a FUE and refusing to take finasteride means playing with the hair dynamite known as DHT.
