My family general practitioner doctor prescribed this medicine and sent it to a compounding pharmacy. I have no idea what’s in it and no paperwork came with it. I was seeing the doctor for something completely unrelated (annual blood work/checkup and an Ambien refill) and while he was looking over my chart he was shocked someone my age would need Avodart. I told him it was off-label for hair loss and I didn’t use it for prostate issues. The rest of the unrelated visit went by and on his way out of the door he said he’d call in a script to a compounding pharmacy for some hair growth tonic. He never actually told me what’s in it and he was so rushed he was gone without me getting a chance to ask. Can any of you provide any insight?
I am 32 and have been using Dutasteride and Rogain daily for over 15 years. I have no problem using prescription drugs, but I would like to know what it is I’m putting on my head before I actually apply it… he didn’t say to discontinue Avodart and rogaine so I assume he wants me to use this in addition to it?
