Yes but I am not sure that it's not psychosomatic because wind from say in a car with the windows down can dishevel and cause breakage or increase temporarily the telogen rate. That sounds like rampant hair loss so I wouldn't wait to seek treatment if you are not yet.Hair is falling like crazy. Have lost like 50% density in 3 and a half month, it is drier than ever and it hurts like hell. Even the wind causes pain when it reaches my hair. I also have a tingling sensation on the scalp sometimes.
What type of treatment? I'm already on oral dutasteride, oral minoxidil 5mg dermaroller and ketoconazole. Something to take in mind if that makes sense is that I've changed my minoxidil dosage 3 months ago. I've also been on 3 antibiotics at the same time 3 months ago. I don't know if that has something to do with my actual hair loss. I'm actually really worried cause my hairline looks like fluff, but not only the hairline, whole hair is diffuse as f*** and its only been 3 months..... I'm really depressed at this moment, how in the world can someone lose that amount of hair in such short period of time taking medication?....Yes but I am not sure that it's not psychosomatic because wind from say in a car with the windows down can dishevel and cause breakage or increase temporarily the telogen rate. There is no testicle pain tho.It causes pain in the testicles as they get full & no woman will let you empty them inside her
I've read that you can suffer scalp pain if you have an excessive hair loss in a short period of time.Emotional pain? Yes. Physical pain? No.
If your scalp is causing you pain you need to get it checked out. Hair loss from AA is gradual and subtle, not traumatic. That’s why it’s able to catch people off guard; if losing hair caused scalp pain you would notice it immediately.
Only if it’s caused by physical trauma...pulling it, tight hairstyles, result of an accident, etc...I've read that you can suffer scalp pain if you have an excessive hair loss in a short period of time.
I might be having seborrheic dermatitis. It happened to me before so it wouldn't be a surprise since it is chronic. I've used ketoconazole and did nothing to me but it's because I'm a poor responder to keto. i'll try ciclopirox olamine which is the shampoo that solved my dermititis last time and see if the hair loss is caused by it.Only if it’s caused by physical trauma...pulling it, tight hairstyles, result of an accident, etc...
if you feel pain from your AA you need to see a doctor as it isn’t normal for that to occur.
What you describe could be lichen planopilaris....causes burning/itch pain with hair loss . I'd suggest seeing a derm asap - but definitely that specialises in hair loss as the condition is often misunderstood or misdiagnosed by general derms. MIght be another condition too....it's just the pain/burning is similar to what I have (I have LPP).I might be having seborrheic dermatitis. is it reversible? Because if not, I'm fucked, cause I've lost almost all my density all over my scalp. I'm not sure if its lichen since I have miniaturized hairs on my hairline, I know it because at first they was baby hairs or at least i thought they were baby hairs but after a month, those hairs have become vellus hairs, cause they are white and pretty thin. What you describe could be lichen planopilaris....causes burning/itch pain with hair loss . I'm taking dutasteride + oral min 5 mg and the thinning stopped in the first 6 month of therapy but now 4 months later it is worse than ever.... That's why I dont know if its Androgenic alopecia or what.I get a burning sensation from my thinning area. So pretty obvious that its linked. Lot of the so called experts claim male pattern baldness is not related to any itching or burning. Seems a lot of them don't have a clue
I'm not taking any drugs at the moment debating taking finasteride.I'm taking dutasteride + oral min 5 mg and the thinning stopped in the first 6 month of therapy but now 4 months later it is worse than ever.... That's why I dont know if its Androgenic alopecia or what.
Yeah, it might be male pattern baldness, I suggest you to talk with a doctor. I have an appointment in 18 days with my trichologist.I'm not taking any drugs at the moment debating taking finasteride.
I've read articles by experts who say if your thinning is accompanied by scalp itch/pain you should seek medical advice.
I'm only thinning on one side has been for years. I find it odd that my right side is fully intact but my left has been itching for a long time. I guess it must be male pattern baldness though.
