Does fatigue go away over time?

I've been on finasteride 1mg/day for 3 weeks, no side effects for the first few days, but I've noticed for the past couple of weeks that I've been feeling very weak physically and tired all day for no apparent reason. It seems to be worsening as the days pass. I like to work out, and my ability to jog and lift weights has suffered to the point where I'm considering quitting the drug. My muscles feel weak and depleted of energy 24/7, and I barely ever feel like leaving the house. When I lift, my stamina goes very quickly and I'm having trouble completing my usual workout that I've done for months.

Have any of you had a similar side effect, and did it go away after being on the drug for a period of time?

I'm also experiencing some brain fog and depression. No sexual sides though. My gut feeling is that this drug is bad news, but that's how desperate I am to keep my hair.

I don't think that side-effect will go away, it's not as if you were unfit in the first place. I ended up with fibromyalgia on finasteride and it got a lot worse when I quit the drug. I didn't know what was wrong with me and neither did my doctor. It took me months to get it diagnosed.

Just an update for those interested. I stopped taking this crap three weeks ago, and I feel much more energetic now.

I've resigned myself to losing my hair and am moving on. Saving hair for a few years is not worth messing up the hormone balance in my body.
