Does finasteride become less effective over time?

I have read that some men start to add dutasteride after years being on finasteride. But I haven't read any reports that show that finasteride somehow stops working as effectively the longer you are on it. I also can't see how that would be possible given the science but I'm no expert.

So are there clinical studies out there that finasteride's effectiveness wanes over time?.

I ask because I've been on finasteride for 10 years.

thank you.

I was on fina with great success for around 10 years. When I hit close to 40 I started receding at the hairline. I don’t think it stopped working rather the hair just becomes super sensitive.

finasteride increases dht levels in the brain so yes it speeds up hairloss (crosses the bone/brain barrier)
