Does Finasteride cause low sperm and semen levels?

I've been on Finasteride for over three months now. I have no apparent side effects, but one. It started happening about month two. I have lower semen levels. Sometimes I even have dry orgasms. I talked to my doctor and he said it could cause infertility. I talked to a pharmacist and he said I should have no trouble with it and when I stop taking it I will gain my sperm levels back.
I do want kids, but I also want hair...
Does anyone have any answers on here? I just want to know if Propecia can cause low sperm count and if my semen levels will return to normal when I stop it.

I dont think it causes a long term low sperm count but it may be affected while you're on finasteride. Im guessing that you'd probably wanna be on the safe side and get propecia out of your body before actually conceiving a child, so it really shouldn't pose a problem. Im pretty sure the prostate is what helps you're sperm travel so i would say its due to decreased size of prostate.

i would look for a second opinion on the dry orgasm though, ive never experienced that, ive noticed a decreased load though after the first month or so.

I apologize in advance if the following post is going to sound vile, I'm just trying to share my experience.
Been on Propecia for 5+ months, then added generic dutasteride for 3 months, so altogether Propecia for 8+months and dutasteride for 3+ months. It's been a few weeks since I last took both medications, I stopped both at once. The semen volume is very much on the low side, and it's also watery, also the actual ejaculation doesn't travel very far. Keep in mind I take a multi vitamin, a lot of zinc (100~200mg elemental zinc a day) and other supplements as well, but still never in my life do I remember having such ejaculations, I don't know if it's also the fact I'm 31 years old and nature is taking it's course. I guess it might take a while until things return to normal or at least improve.

How is the ejaculation force now?
