Does Finasteride Get Bad Before It Gets Better?

I've noticed the corners of my hairline start to thin and looks like my hairline is actually receeding even more. I'm 10 months on Minoxidil, 3 months on Dermaroller, and 2 months on Finasteride. I read on the forums that finasteride sheds your dead hairs and regrows thicker ones in it's place. Is that true?? I'm really really worried.
Here's before:

And here's my 2 month mark:

The first photo is flipped for some reason, but it's the same temple. I'd really like to know if this is good or bad. Only on month 2 of finasteride and I'm really f*****g scared about losing my hair

i don't believe that sh*t about making it worse then getting better though.

I think that's the company line being toted to keep selling the product.

Give it six months, 8 months max.

It's also possible that it simply doesn't (yet) do anything for your hair and that you just continues to lose hair as you would anyway. Seems like 2 months is too short to figure out wether it works or not.

You can get bad before. It takes 6 months to see real results. Just be patient.

If you can keep maintaining what you have consider that a success. Finasteride by itself has never been a wonder drug for regrowth but when it's combined with minoxidil, you tend to see the potential for regrowth. It takes a good year to assess your situation. So far you are doing fine. See you back in a 6 months recheck. Better not to lurk here for too long or you will be stuck here for decades.

finasteride inhibits 5ar, 5ar reductase is also responsible for the metabolism of other hormones, not only testosterone to dihydrotestosterone but also progesterone to hydroxyprogesterone but also other hormones are metabolized through 5ar. You inhibit 5ar reductase and inhibit the metabolism of other hormones!
