Does Finasteride Lower Testosterone?

I remember when i used to take finasteride. i did not really have any side effects. i know for certain though that my testosterone did not go up. so i am wondering whether it went down.

And is it true that low testosterone increases DHT to replace it??

firstly it raises testosterone but eventually it slightly lowers it

No, it actually raises it a 10%.

Yes, because Testosterone that is not transformed into DHT is kept as testosterone.

Finasteride was forbidden in sports just a few years ago (I don't know if the legislation has changed since) because of that. It was considered a doping substance.

Then why do people suffer side effects to do with libido and muscle if thats the case?

I don't know. I'm not a pharmacologist or a chemist. I just can assure you that Finasteride raises testosterone between an 8 and a 10% (which is not much really).

Anyways side effects only happen to 3-4% of people, so its not even common.

Depends on your baseline.

If you have low testosterone you'll be in the group with the biggest increase in testosterone.
If you have high testosterone, it doesn't change a lot for you.
