2 months on finasteride so far. My hairline has thinned out since baseline when I started. Is it normal to thin out before thickening up? Kind of worried finasteride is not working. Overall hair at the front/forelock is thinner then before.

Yes and no. High probability you’ll maintain your hairline with finasteride. But it doesn’t regrow much at the hairline

Could thicken it up though. Just don’t expect to regrow hair where there is no hair

No it’s fine. It won’t change if you take finasteride. Stop constantly posting asking for reassurance it’s annoying

At 2 months in I would say it's either the initial shed manifesting itself or you've placebo'ed yourself into seeing a recession. I'm 2 years into low dose, infrequent finasteride and just lately have I realized I've actually both receded and thinned over time so I had to increase my dosage and frequency. In your case at 2 months it's too early to tell anything really.

If you are worried about sides, you are better off switching to topical. Although it could still cause some sides topically, it much less likely. Your hair looks the same. It may mature in the next decade or so. You are in good shape. I forgot your age. For some reason I mixed you up with some of the 19 year olds on here. We have alot of those now.

It’s either balding is getting worse as younger people flock to these forums or there’s more emphasis on a perfect hairline these days and it’s creating body image issues

Social media has ignited the craze to look perfect so you are going to get a huge surge of guys with BDD. If there was a poll in the medical field amongst teens( males or females) or even in their early 20's, you will find depression and anxiety at the top of the list. And unfortunately, these people never get any better later in life. Our teens are the most crucial times and will help shape what your future life will become unless you learn how to change your perspective on how you think. If you notice on YouTube, the ones with the most subscribers are model like material or freaks of nature( real train wrecks). Every person needs to identify with someone.

What brand Finasteride you using?

You can try Topical Finasteride less side effects, see here:

I use Keeps 1mg ed since January. No sides at all I have noticed. If i do have any sides it's very negligible and won't notice until i ever decide to come off the medication if that makes any sense, so using topical finasteride won't make sense to use for me until i ever do notice sides knock on wood lol
