Does Hair Loss Also Stop If You Have Permanent Side Effects From Finasteride?

I quit finasteride seven months ago after taking it for two weeks, and I still have ED. Can I expect hair loss to stop as long as the side effects last? That would be at least some consolation. I'm hoping this is the case but it looks like my left temple might have receeded slightly since I stopped taking it, so I'm not sure. Are there any studies on this? Or reports from those with PFS?

Of course not. Finasteride has a half life of around 5 hours. If you stopped taking it 7 months ago, the medication has been long gone out of your system.

I suggest you go and see a doctor about your issues do determine what may be the cause, and best course of action to take.

I don't see how the half life is relevant here. If persistent side effects are a result of hormone changes that last long after the medication is stopped, why couldn't the same changes result in a delay of hair loss?

I've spoken with two doctors already, but there's nothing that can be done. I've accepted my fate at this point. The ED is probably going to be permanent, or very long lasting.

If u stop taking finasteride, DHT levels will rise again and ur hormonal profile will change again. Permanent ED is bullsht, ED is mostly in ur head. U will be fine.

Would also like to point out that ED is not specifically from DHT levels, it can also be from neurotoxicity caused by Finasteride. Your DHT levels are probably back to baseline but if Finasteride altered your brain it can cause ED, afterall your brain is responsible for everything.

What's suspicious about OP's story is that even though he claims to have sides from use of finasteride, he seems to be worried more about hair than side. I've noticed that most of the times if one battles bothersome sides, the last thing they consider is hair and the vast majority will give a f*** about hair and just want to get over the sides once and for all.
