does shaving/buzzing hair to 1mm have any negative effect?

I've been on propecia/minoxidil for more than 2 years now .. propecia stopped any further hairloss and I've had very minor success with minoxidil. I'm still a NW3 (with vertex) I think... My main issue areas are the temples with a bit of density problem on the crown (although crown has gotten noticably better with minoxidil)

Anyway, the other day i decided to shave my head with a clipper down to 1mm and I feel completely liberated and don't look too bad with a bald head at all .. However I'd like to continue using propecia/minoxidil so that one day, if there's a cure, I can go back and regrow my hair.

Now what I'm wondering is whether cutting my hair so close to scalp (approx. 1mm) will have any negative impact on my hair loss ? I'll probably do it once a week with the hair clipper on the lowest setting (approx 1mm) Advice would be greatly appreciated Cheers

Negative impact on hair loss? Are you asking if buzzing will make your hair better? If so, no. It won't hurt your hair either.

yeah to hairloss .. was worried clipping it down weekly to <1mm might actually weaken the hair in my problem areas ie. temples/crown.

But if it won't that's great, I can keep the baldy look for a while and keep taking the meds just in case I change my mind one day or there's a proper 'cure' for male pattern baldness.

no you're good man. It'll help you to not worry about your hair as much and its much easier to apply topicals and to maintain a healthier scalp. Was for me anyways. good luck with the regimen.
