I take my pill first thing every morning. Does it make any difference what time?

And does it make a difference if I take it on a full or empty stomach?

"Finasteride is indicated for the treatment of men with male pattern hair loss. The recommended dosage of finasteride in male pattern hair loss is 1 mg/day, taken with or without food. Daily treatment for 3 months or more is necessary before results are seen, and continued treatment is essential to sustain benefit. Furthermore, the effects of the drug are reversed within 12 months after treatment cessation." from McClellan, K.J. & Markham, A. Drugs (1999) 57: 111. https://doi.org/10.2165/00003495-199957010-00014

"There are no current data to support the use of finasteride in women with androgenetic alopecia. Moreover, pregnant women should not be directly exposed to finasteride by using or handling crushed tablets because of the risk of hypospadias developing in a male fetus." from McClellan, K.J. & Markham, A. No, finasteride pill, not birth control. Is it better to take it at a certain time?

Oh, I see i quoted the wrong paragraph from that paper, my bad, fixed it. Not sure about time. I haven't researched this... but my guess is testosterone is highest in the morning, so DHT levels as well, and therefore you suppress most taking it in the morning? It'll probably insignificant anyway, it's more important to be consistent with the time. So a time which you are sure you are able to take finasteride. E.g. morning might be a problem to do consistent in the morning if you are into partying ;)

Nah, I'm an old fart, 44, my partying days are over. I go to bed at 9 and get up at 6 even on the weekends now. Morning is convenient for me, I just wonder if I should pre-empt the nighttime increase in testosterone.

Thanks for that link BTW. That answers many questions I've had.
