Does this look like gyno?

I've been on proscar since September last year. I'm getting worried that maybe I'm starting to get gyno. Am I just paranoid? If it's of any relevance, I'm slightly underweight (BMI somewhere between 18,5 and 19)

Norsk, I have been on Propecia for over 2 years and I am getting something similar to you. In my opinion I believe it is a very slight case of gyno or maybe pseudo gyno starting but nothing very significant. In my case, I notice the areolas are slightly puffy and my nipples are getting very slightly bigger. Today my areola area feels slightly tender more on my left side than right since I have cut my dosage to half a Propecia for now at the beginning of this week. I am not sure if this slight change in dosage could cause such a feeling after one week.

Norsk, I agree with the above statement. I used to be a personal trainer for many years and used to deal with many individuals who were on anabolic steriods. As a result a few of them had developed gyno, and in your case it is looking like a slight case of it. If I were you I would monitor it very closely, and if starts to progressively get worse, I would seek treatment.

Is it painful? Are there hard lumps under the nipple? If the answer to both is no, then it's not. The nipple does look a bit puffy in the second picture though.

I would say possibly, like somebody already asked, do you have any pain? Have you recently put on weight? Has there been a visible change since before finasteride?

Not much pain, really. I have felt "something" in my nipples or chest a few times, but it's not very painful and not very often. Not any significant weight gain. Whether there is change compared to before finasteride I'm unsure, because I never thought I would get any gyno, so I didn't bother to get any baseline pics of my chest. I'm going to the doctor tomorrow to hear his opinion, to be on the safe side. Can finasteride cause pseudo-gyno, if it isn't real gyno, and can the pseudo-gyno also get really bad if I continue taking proscar?

He wasn't sure, either. I got my hormones checked, to be on the safe side. If estradiol levels are high, I should quit, right? I also tried to get a prescription for Proxiphen, but it seems like it could be tricky to get hold of in Norway.

I have noticed some kind of chest ache (although not very painful) more often the last few days. I'm still not convinced that I actually have gyno, but I'm not sure I can handle the paranoia even if it's mostly in my mind. For now I have switched from 1/4 proscar to 1/8 proscar, probably going to ween myself off of it over the next weeks. :lost:

i have the exact same thing... maybe less noticeable physically speaking. But for sure, it was not the same before

in my case, it is very painful, each day... itchy nipples and so on...

the thing is i got it while on finasteride and though I have quit for 5 months now it is still present... I got my estradiol checked and it was above range, as well as prolactin. I'm seeing docs and I am hoping to get estradiol+prolactin under control to be relieved from the pain.

People have to understand that there are intermediate cases of gyno. You do not wake up one morning with pamela anderson nipples...

Well this is my story, up to you to decide what to do.

I think you should try squeezing them into a bowl of your favorite morning time cereal. If boy milk comes out, you are in trouble, if nothing comes out you have some dry cereal.

Are there lumps behind the nipple? I got gyno after dropping finasteride and my T tanked leaving elevated prolactin and other hormonal imbalances. Try squeezing the nipple, if liquid comes out you most likely have hyperprolactinemia or prolactinoma and should visit a doctor.
Could also simply be leftovers of teenage-gyno which is common.

You funny bastard lololol :uglylol:

Seriously my nipples are exactly the same as Norsk's, The weird thing is, I developed a lump in my right nipple, it first came during pubity then it went away and then come back about 10 years ago, I had it checked and eventually had it removed (it was quite painful) my nipple feels as if the lump is coming back.

:dunno:

I'm noticing a slight pain in/around my nipplles more and more often. I think it is indeed gyno. No more finasteride for me (except maybe topical finasteride if it seems to work)

Norsk, have you tried a smaller dose of finasteride. Now that I cut back things are better for me so far. I do not know if coincidence or not but my hair is starting to feel better in texture like it did before I started with Propecia.

Well, I cut back to 1/8 proscar a couple of weeks ago. Then I started taking 1/8 every other day. But it was mainly to wean my body off of the finasteride, to reduce the likelihood of some kind of hormonal crash that the propeciahelp guys talk about. Reducing the finasteride dose didn't seem to help GHG. I'm scared of ending up like that.
